Installation
Properly
Fitting
After you have decided on the correct Ice machine size
and brand your next step once delivered would be properly
fitting your unit into the most accommodated area for
proper ease of use. Most initial problems associated
with new ice makers is not the ice maker its self but
its environment. Making sure that proper drain lines
are ran will help in reducing clogs in the maker and
bin, proper water supply lines will make sure the ice
maker itself is most sufficient and adequate space around
the unit will keep it breathable and minimize risk of
overheating and long term compressor damage. Also the
unit must be easily accessible to retrieving ice!
Sound
Depending on the type of unit purchased and whether
or not its air or water cooled ice makers can be very
noisy machines. Sometimes this can become a problem
in smaller restaurants but can almost always be a problem
in hotels. Making sure from the very beginning your
noise objectives will help in deciding area of installation,
brand, size, type of compressor and if any what should
be designed around the unit.
Filtration
Proper filtration for ice machines can be our biggest
objective due to the fact that 75% of breakdowns on
ice machines are water related. To make sure upon installation
that correct size and type filtration units are being
installed will save on costly repairs and redoes
in the long run. In some cases even the correct placement
of water filters so they are easily accessible will
save in labor on yearly filter replacements.
